Greater is He

I love the truth of these words. No matter how fragile I am, no matter how exhausted and weary, Greater is He!  Today Rene is getting ready to leave for his first meeting away from home. Almost 100 days have passed since his surgery.  Those days were filled with constant care, sleepless nights, mental exhaustion but they were also filled with victories day in and day out as I experienced God providing peace and strength, and comfort in dealing with all the newness of this stage in our lives.  And so as Rene packs his suitcase this morning with all the new medical paraphernalia that he now needs, Greater is He.  As he faces exhaustion from this meeting, Greater is He.  As he faces the demands that traveling brings, Greater is He!  The house will be quiet this afternoon as I watch the car drive out of the driveway, a part of my heart will be missing as I sit down to eat a meal, and no doubt I will be wishing we were playing skip Bo or carpet ball or sitting in front of the fire but I will also be thankful and rejoice to know that Greater is He and the void that I’m feeling is only momentary. I will instead focus on the fact Rene will be doing what he loves and will be preaching a message with a new voice for the glory of God and living out the verse, “of some having compassion, making a difference “   I will claim Greater is He in my day today knowing that For this I have Jesus!
